Martha Flores MS, RDN, CD, LD
I started my career wanting to be a pediatrician, I moved to Mexico to pursue medicine. After two semesters I realized that medicine was not for me and decided to come back to the US. Deciding what I was going to do instead was hard. I flipped through the Course Catalog at University of Nevada, Reno and decided nutrition sounded fun and looked like I was still helping people in the health field.
In college, originally I did not want to be a dietitian because no one else looked like me. When I started working at the hospital, I noticed that other dietitians were coming to ask me for advice on how to talk to spanish-speaking patients.
This is when I realized this is exactly where I needed to be.
I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and lived in Reno, Nevada after graduating college. Now I live in Pullman, WA, which is why I am licensed in both Nevada and Washington. Because of this my practice is virtual. I have found that people are more comfortable in their homes, especially if there is more than one child. You don't have to worry about what you are going to do with your other kids while we are in a session, or worry about finding a ride.
Working with kids and their families has been an absolute pleasure and has become my life passion. Contact me today to schedule a consultation and take the first step towards achieving your nutrition goals!
